Say "Hello" to the pattern kits!

I've been thinking a lot lately about which direction this website should take. When developing patterns, there are things that I enjoy more and things that I enjoy less. Not surprising.

Nonetheless, I run this website primarily as a hobby, so I think it is adequate to think if I can get rid of some of the less fun things.

Developing such a pattern takes a long time. And many, many steps are repeated over and over again. That is of course logical, as a rule you basically always need the same parts, which are then varied depending on the model. The creative part has come a long way short lately.

Somehow I would like to shorten the time between an idea and the finished item in my closet. A lot of extra time is currently being spent because I want to prepare all the little things perfectly and for my shop. At the same time, I became aware of certain limits. I do all this on my own and in my free time. I don't have the capacity to sew all variations or sizes. In addition, of course, I myself have a certain "loot scheme" that does not necessarily have to match yours. For example, I prefer tailored tops to wide tunics. I regularly get inquiries about wider cut models and I would also like to provide the appropriate. Only - I don't want to sew such a pattern for myself, it would go to waste in the closet because I wouldn't feel comfortable in it.

After a lot of time to think about it, I set the following points for myself:

Point 1: When I sew, I first concentrate on my own wishes and ideas.

Point 2: I develop tools that are even more customizable than before.

Point 3: It is completely ok if a detail is only changed on the printed pattern and only for one item.

Point 4: A solid base is more important than the high gloss polish.

Point 5: I am closing my Etsy shop. Conceptually, it all doesn't fit together somehow.

What does that mean for the website now?

I want to create a basis that I and as many others as possible can work with. The result of this thought are my pattern kits.

The patterns will be more like basic models, but they can be changed much more than with my previous patterns. My idea is that the kits provide a base for a wide variety of projects. I see a dress that I want to sew? Then I assemble the pattern as far as possible in the kit and then maybe add the box pleat in the front center when cutting.

That doesn't mean that the sewing patterns are buried with it. With more specific models and my attempts at historical patterns, the kits makes no sense, I would also create these as single patterns in the future.

The kits are still heavy under construction, but you can already work with them and I would be very happy to receive your feedback. :)

So what do you mean?
